We are NCS group W2202. On August 7th we are going to hold a quiz night in Sherborne St. John Village Hall between 7:00 pm and 8:45 pm. Tickets are £4 for adults and £2 for under 16s.

We are doing this in order to raise funds and awareness for Sarcoidosis UK, a little-known charity that is striving to better the lives of those affected and investing in research for a cure. In the charity's own words, "Sarcoidosis suffers from lack of awareness, poor quality information, low levels of support and almost no research into finding a cure. "It is therefore obvious that the organisation needs urgent help, both in time and money. We look to raise a substantial sum to help out this charity.

Sarcoidosis is a rare auto-immune disease usually affecting the lungs, "characterized by the enlargement of lymph nodes in many parts of the body and the widespread appearance of granulomas".

Sarcoidosis UK is important to us as a group because two of our members are close relatives of victims of this disease, and thus want to spread the word about it. As only 7 in every 100,000 people have this disease, the fact that we are connected to two victims is very coincidental, and thus spurns us even to work harder to raise funds.

For more information about Sarcoidosis UK, visit their website here, or pick up a leaflet at our quiz night.

We would appreciate any value of donations and thank you for your support.
